And Do It Daily!
(from a Minnesota Drag King Of color)
This year I beat foot cancer, got a chunk of my foot removed, caught systemic poison ivy and most importantly I tapped into the core of what drives and motivates me to be….me
One of the most exhausting and draining things in life is being insincere. It is hard on the body and it can fuel depression and negativity. The daily journey of survival can be tough in a world that is always trying to change and mould you. Do not let others box you into the idea of what they think that you should be. To help yourself, you must be yourself. Go ahead and be the best that you can be. This is achievable by doing what inspires you…daily. When you make a mistake, learn from it, pick yourself up and move on. A confined identity is a miserable way to exist. Today, my desire for you, is that one day……. some day soon you will be comfortable in your own skin

What is a Drag King?
“A drag king is anyone who has the intention to perform some version of masculinity,” “That can be any gender. It can be burlesque, lip syncing, performance art, or poetry.” Volane does a good job of explaining things you should know about Drag Kings on thier website.
Drag kings have been a significant part of the queer community for a very long time. In fact, they have been around since the late 1980s. Drag king’s Roots reach way back two centuries in the United States: Annie Hindle, the first popular male impersonator, began performing in 1867.
